Job Description

As a Security Officer - Main Entrance Screener in Pittsburgh, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at an education location, you will help monitor and patrol assigned areas, perform routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that may help reduce security-related incidents. You will support entry screening and access control while delivering strong customer service and clear communication to students, staff, and visitors. What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to students, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an education location.
Screen individuals entering assigned buildings by verifying identification, managing visitor access, and/or conducting entry screening in accordance with site requirements.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting concerns and coordinating with campus contacts and/or public responders as directed.
Monitor entry points, lobby areas, and surrounding walkways for unusual activity, and document observations in accordance with post orders.
Conduct regular and random patrols around assigned buildings and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by location.

Minimum Requirements:

Be at least 21 years of age.
Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Alarm panel experience is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
