The role of the Security Supervisor will be to overseeing daily operations, managing security staff, monitoring security systems to ensure the safety of people and assets, developing and enforcing security policies, and to welcome visitors and deliver service excellence ensuring their visit is always memorable.

Manage and monitor the daily security operations across the museum, coordinating inputs from all departments.

•Manage the performance of the Security Guards, including training, daily briefing, mentoring, coaching and professional development.

•Manage the performance of external providers ensuring adherence to security policies and procedures.

Pre-Opening

•Work with the Security Unit Head to develop, implement and monitor the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Business Continuity Management (BCM) Frameworks.

Ongoing

•In absence of Security Unit Head to act as the key contact between the museum and the emergency services in the event of an emergency or disaster; and maintain established relationships on behalf of the museum with key government agencies including: Ministry of Interior (MOI), Abu Dhabi Police (ADP), Critical National Infrastructure Authority (CNIA), Department of Transport (DOT), the Higher National Security Council National Emergency and Crisis Management Authority (NCEMA).

•Manage the daily operational security activities and ensure compliance with policies and procedures

•Manage and monitor the daily security operations across the museum, coordinating inputs from all departments.

• Oversee surveillance systems (CCTV), alarms, and access control systems, responding to alerts and ensuring their proper functioning.

•Ensure all security equipment, such as cameras and access control systems, is in good working order and properly maintained.

•Educate and train security guards on protocols, emergency procedures, and the use of security equipment.

•Comply with the strategy for the museum under the direction of the Security Unit Head.

•Lead investigations into security incidents, accidents, or breaches, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.

•Manage the performance of the Security Guards, including training, daily briefing, mentoring, coaching and professional development.

Manage the performance of external providers ensuring adherence to security policies and procedures

•Manage the implementation and monitoring of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Crisis Management Frameworks in alignment with the museums risk and resilience strategies.

•Work closely with collections team on devising the security strategies for protecting objects / works in the museum collection from crime incidents.

•Assist the Security Unit Head in the management and implementation of security policy, standards, guidelines, protocols and procedures to ensure maintenance of security.

•Supervise the surveillance of all the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Museum areas including all access points and exit controls for all types of audiences and visitors.

•To constantly inspect and monitor all security devices, equipment and exhibits to ensure that they are secure as intended.

•Investigate and resolve security breaches and conducts risk assessments and analyses to mitigate potential consequences and develop a plan to respond to incidents.

•To assist access and communication with emergencies services during the event of an accident or emergency.

•To assist with the coordination of evacuations during emergencies.

•Maintain a security operations structure that is sustainable and allows for training of personnel and communication between teams.

•Coordinate a 24-hour response to all security-related incidents ensuring all levels of concerned HODs are informed.

Minimum of 5 years of experience

•At least 3 years of security supervision experience in a similar role in a visitor-focused industry, policing or public safety context.

•Experience of risk management.

•Experience of report writing.

•Experience in protection of valuable assets.

•Experience of working with integrated building security technology systems, i.e. video surveillance system (VSS), intruder alarm system (IAS), and access control system (ACS).

•Experience in managing a team and conflict resolution.

•Knowledge of security risk assessment.

•Knowledge of physical security planning.

•Conflict management skills

•Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards

•Knowledge of emergency services procedures.

•Fluency in Arabic and English is essential.
