Job Description

Position Overview:

SEED Professionals spend two years developing their core knowledge and business acumen in the areas of operations, training, safety, sales and customer engagement within Keystone’s five key divisions: Energy, Grain, Agronomy, Swine & Animal Nutrition and Corporate. SEED Professionals spend 9 weeks in each division in their first year, with year two focused on their individualized apprenticeship and obtaining any specialized licensures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Include but are not limited to:

  • Gain in-depth knowledge and on-the-job training regarding daily operations at Agronomy and Grain branches, and within the Energy, Swine & Animal Nutrition and Corporate divisions
  • Assist divisional and branch leadership with housekeeping and maintenance of facility and grounds
  • Ensure safety compliance
  • Communicate daily activities, needs and accomplishments at branch level with management
  • Engage with fellow SEED Team and Leadership on scheduled update calls, at internal and customer-centered events and at divisional Development Days
  • Attend events where potential SEED candidates are present, answering questions and serving as a recruiter for subsequent SEED classes
  • Participate in SEED Program Capstone project through team meetings, small and large group presentations and connecting with Keystone Executive leadership
  • Working on individual or small group projects as the need arises

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Basic agronomic, animal husbandry and grain experience, as well as prior agriculture and FFA experience preferred
  • Strong team player, clear communicator and self-starter
  • Ability to prioritize and ask questions, with a strong work ethic necessary

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma required
