Senior 3D Designer

As the Senior 3D Designer, you will be working closely with our core development design team, licensing teams, and cross-functional partners. You will be tasked to deliver an innovative and exciting toy product that is fun to play with! This includes the preparation of 3D models and prototypes for internal management review, development turnover, and licensor approvals. You will be challenged to be a respectful champion as you evolve concepts into a finished product.

What You Will Do:

  • Self-motivated to work on and manage projects while also participating in team efforts on shared tasks.
  • Preparation of 3D models and prints for internal management review, development turnover, licensor approvals and pitches.
  • Oversee projects while being innovative and respectful to cost, manufacturing, quality and schedule.
  • Work collaboratively with your design, brand, engineering, packaging, licensor and other internal team partners to create product that is the best fit for the brand.
  • Be adaptable to shifting priorities and be vigilant to keep your projects moving forward to hit deadlines.
  • Provide direction and feedback during the development process that is attentive to the licensor's needs and wishes to make sure their brand is always well represented and held to the highest standard.
  • Supports cross-functional teams for 3D render needs.
  • Manage 3D print queue, 3D printer upkeep and 3D printing needs.
  • Actively works to adapt 3D design workflow that best fits the needs for the specific brand or license.
  • Maintain detailed records of the 3D design process including tracking and archiving all sculpt iterations, testing results, and final specifications.
  • Collaborates to establish best 3D design practices, standards, and procedures to consistently improve team and process efficiency. This includes workflow and 3D file hand-off with PD counterparts.
  • Be a mentor to other 3D designers on the team by providing guidance, direction and support. Provides training to junior level 3D designers.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial design, toy design, 3D modeling, or other relevant field preferred. A commensurate combination of experience and education is acceptable.
  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • Proficient in 3D modeling (Zbrush/Rhino/Fusion 360/or FreeForm)
  • Proficient in 3D printing/output and operating 3D Printers to support team with prints.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator)
  • Strong, visual verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of materials and multiple manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of working with licensed brands
  • Knowledge of working with Asia factories
  • Understanding manufacturing processes and limitations
  • Must understand production sculpting practices – parting lines, part separation, and molding concerns
  • Ability to wear multiple hats for design
  • Demonstrate a strong design sense and problem-solving skills
  • Consistently chooses to be a student of the toy industry and keeps engaged with current trends
  • Proactively observes and gains understanding of the competitive marketplace
  • Proficient project management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a global organization
  • Multi-lingual a plus

The salary range for this position is $98,640.00 - 105,000.00/Yr. Base salary may vary based on experience, role tenure, performance, industry, location. Eligibility for annual performance incentive may apply. Jazwares is a multi-state employer, salary range may not apply to other states.
