Job Title: Senior Accountant

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing accurate financial reporting. This role includes supervising junior accountants, managing audits, preparing budgets, and contributing to financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with statutory regulations.

Monitor cash flow, bank reconciliations, and ensure proper fund management.

Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Ensure compliance with tax regulations, GST, TDS, and other statutory requirements.

Coordinate with auditors for internal and external audits.

Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Supervise and mentor junior accountants and finance staff.

Analyze financial data and provide insights to management for strategic planning.

Assist in the development and improvement of accounting policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s / CA / CMA preferred).

Proven work experience (8 to 10 years) as an Accountant, with at least 2 years in a senior role.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax laws.

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, QuickBooks, or ERP systems) and MS Excel.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Strong communication and leadership abilities.

High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.

Work Environment:

Office-based role with occasional extended hours during financial closings, audits, and reporting deadlines.
