Job Title: Senior Accountant
Role Overview:
As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, ensuring their compliance, and delivering high-quality service. Your role will involve preparing Annual Accounts, VAT Returns, Payroll, and Tax Computations, while also supporting the UK team and mentoring junior team members.
You will be expected to work within budgeted hours and meet firm targets, while maintaining excellent client relationships and ensuring seamless service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Client & Compliance Management
- Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring their Accounts, Tax Returns, and other compliance requirements are delivered on time.
- Develop an understanding of each client’s business needs to provide the best service.
- Maintain accurate compliance records and be able to present portfolio status to the UK team at any time.
- Ensure all deadlines (Accounts, VAT, Payroll, Confirmation Statements, etc.) are met.
- Respond promptly to client queries and send follow-up chasers when needed.
Accounts & Tax Preparation
- Prepare Final Year-End Accounts with Accurate Working Papers, ensuring they meet firm standards before manager/UK review.
- Draft and send Year-End Accounts Emails to clients.
- Prepare Corporation Tax computations and Returns.
- Prepare VAT Returns for your clients and Management Accounts where required.
- Provide clients with KPI insights and financial reports.
- Prepare Personal Tax Returns (including self-employment and rental accounts) for final review.
Bookkeeping & Payroll Oversight
- Perform bookkeeping tasks efficiently using bank feeds, Dext, and other automation tools when required.
- Oversee Payroll, CIS, and VAT tasks prepared by the team, ensuring accuracy.
- Team Support & Development
- Provide guidance and support to Semi-Seniors and Assistants, helping them develop their skills.
- Review junior team members’ work and offer feedback to maintain quality standards.
What We’re Looking For:
Qualifications & Experience
- 2-3 years of UK practice experience.
- Part-qualified ACCA/AAT (or equivalent)
Skills & Strengths
- Proficient in Xero, QuickBooks, and FreeAgent.
- Strong knowledge of UK tax regulations and accounting standards.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and keep client records up to date.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet budgeted hours/targets.
Pay & Benefits:
- Salary Range: PKR 153,000 – PKR 187,000 per month (depending on experience).
