Senior Accountant

Position Summary

We are strengthening our finance infrastructure and internal processes. We are looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant who thrives in a dynamic, sometimes unstructured environment and is motivated to build systems, improve processes, and bring financial clarity to the organization.

This role is ideal for someone who is not just looking to “maintain” accounting records, but to build and improve them.

You will be responsible for general accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with applicable accounting standards, and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for month-end and year-end closing processes, and preparation of financial statements
• Prepare and post journal entries and perform account reconciliations, including various tax-related accounts, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Revenue, COGS, various types of expenses
• Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure accuracy of financial records
• Develop closing checklists and documentation where processes are not yet formalized
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and various regulations

· Collaborate with commercial teams on AR activities, prepare related reports, and support sales tax reporting and compliance.

• Support external audits and tax filings

Payment Review & Cash Control

• Review and audit vendor payments applications and transactions for accuracy and proper documentation
• Review and audit contractor invoices for payment processing
• Review and validate employee expense reimbursements
• Establish and improve payment approval workflows
• Maintain segregation of duties and strengthen payment approval controls
• Prepare and enter online banking transactions (ACH, wire, bill payments) with accuracy
• Monitor and implement controls to prevent duplicate or improper payments

Build & Strengthen Processes

• Improve documentation and financial workflow clarity
• Support ERP system optimization or implementation

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, knowledge of US GAAP
• Comfortable working in an environment where processes are evolving
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online Advanced and online banking payment platforms.
• Intermediate Excel skills

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
