We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to serve as a relationship manager and project leader for a portfolio of business clients. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, billable public accounting environment and enjoys balancing technical bookkeeping expertise with strong communication and project management skills.


The Role

Our Accounting Services team functions as the back-office operational arm for our business clients. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing 20–30 business clients at a time, ensuring their financials are accurate, timely, and complete.


You will serve as the main point of contact for assigned clients and will manage monthly projects internally to ensure all deliverables, including bookkeeping, payroll, sales tax, AR/AP, and financial reporting, are completed accurately and on time.


This is a highly project-management-focused role. Communication, organization, and follow-through are critical.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship & Account Ownership

  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for 20–30 business clients
  • Act as the main point of contact for financial and bookkeeping needs
  • Gather required financial data from clients and proactively follow up when information is missing
  • Maintain strong communication and detailed documentation to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Anticipate client needs and identify potential issues before they escalate


Bookkeeping & Financial Oversight

  • Maintain and accurately update books for multiple clients on a recurring basis
  • Code and categorize transactions correctly using proper debits and credits
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Review and analyze monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet & Profit and Loss) for accuracy before client delivery
  • Complete final adjustments and close out monthly financials
  • Identify and correct discrepancies independently


Payroll & Compliance

  • Process and/or oversee payroll for assigned clients
  • Manage related payroll tax filings and annual reporting requirements
  • Prepare and manage sales tax filings
  • Maintain knowledge of small business regulatory requirements


Project Management & Internal Coordination

  • Manage monthly bookkeeping and compliance projects within a billable environment
  • Ensure assigned work delegated to staff accountants is completed accurately and on time
  • Collaborate with Managers to determine delegation and workflow priorities
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and 1:1 meetings with your manager to review workload and updates
  • Support onboarding of new clients and assist with clean-up or transition projects
  • Identify workflow improvements and implement efficiencies where possible


What We’re Looking For

  • 5–7+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • Heavy proficiency in QuickBooks Online required
  • Payroll processing and payroll tax filing experience required
  • Experience managing multiple clients simultaneously
  • Strong understanding of debits, credits, and full-cycle bookkeeping
  • Ability to analyze and identify errors on financial statements
  • Sales tax preparation experience
  • Prior public accounting experience strongly preferred


Work Environment & Flexibility

  • First 60–90 days in-office for onboarding and training
  • Hybrid/remote options available after the training period


Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary : $70,000, increases based upon experience and longevity.
