SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Role Overview:
A Senior Accountant in Bahrain usually manages core financial and accounting duties to ensure accurate financial records, regulatory compliance, and reporting. Most roles expect good practical experience (often 3–6+ years) and ability to join soon.

Common Responsibilities Include:

  • Preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Managing general ledger, journal entries, account reconciliations, AP/AR.
  • Overseeing month‑end and year‑end closing processes and reporting accuracy.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards (IFRS/local) and VAT/tax reporting.
  • Coordinating with auditors and external stakeholders for audit reviews.
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasts, financial planning and cash flow management.
  • Supervising accounting tasks and ensuring internal controls.

Qualifications Often Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting/Finance.
  • Professional certification advantageous (e.g., ACCA/CPA/CMA) — preferred by many employers.
  • Strong Excel & accounting software skills.
  • Experience working with Bahrain VAT/GCC accounting environments.
