Job Overview:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day accounting operations, month-end closing activities, financial reporting compliance with IFRS, Taxation & compliance and payroll management.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis:

Prepare and review monthly financial statements -P&L, BS, CFS with comparative analysis against Actuals, Budget, Latest Estimates and LY.

Ensure financial statements are accurate, timely, and IFRS-compliant.

Prepare and review debtors ageing, accounts payable ageing and Working capital/Cash-conversion-cycles on monthly basis.

Provide management with performance insights & variance analysis.
Day to Day Accounting Operations:

Supervise accounting activities including data entry, documentation review, and transaction approvals and cash management.

Ensure daily closing of petty cash, Daily cash collections/Daily sales reports (DSR) submission and Bank reconciliations.

Prepare and submit daily reports required by the Head Office.

Ensure compliance with internal controls and company financial policies.
General Ledger/ Month end & Year end Closing:
-
Review and post journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and adjustments.

Maintain GL accuracy and ensure proper classification of transactions.

Lead the month end closing process ensuring accurate accruals, provisions, and reconciliations (Stock/bank/AR/AP/inter-company).

Ensure all respective SAP modules are closed in a timely manner.

To manage the Van stock reconciliation.
Accounts Receivables and Credit Control:

To manage customer payment matching, reconciliations and ensure timely booking of credit notes and deduction invoices against the approved Trade spends and BDA.

To do payment(collection) follow-ups as per the company’s credit policies and procedures.

Track and analyze the Trade spend and submit monthly reports to Head office.
Taxation & Compliance:

Quarterly VAT return filing and ensure VAT compliances.

Corporate tax calculations and compliance

Ensure all licenses, agreements and contracts are renewed and up to date.
Payroll Management:

Oversee monthly payroll processing.

Verify timesheets, allowances, deductions, EOSB calculations, and statutory compliance.

Ensure accurate posting of payroll entries to the GL.
Other Responsibilities:

Manage the office administration operations.
-
Support internal and external audits.
-
Support to IT development and projects connected with Finance and operations.
-
Guide and mentor junior accounts team.
-
Perform tasks, analysis, or projects assigned by management from time to time
Education Qualification and Experience:
-
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Accounting/ Finance
-
Minimum 5-8 years of experience in a similar role
-
Experience working on SAP is an added advantage
