Reporting to: Accounts Manager
Role Summary
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing end-to-end accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, overseeing month-end closing processes, and supporting compliance with UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations. The role requires strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of IFRS, and hands-on experience with ERP accounting systems. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Accounts Manager to maintain financial integrity and support business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Prepare, review, and maintain accurate general ledger entries and financial records.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and provisions.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required schedules and documentation.
VAT & Corporate Tax Compliance (UAE)
- Review and prepare VAT returns in accordance with FTA guidelines.
- Ensure proper VAT accounting, documentation, and compliance with UAE VAT laws.
- Assist in preparation and filing of UAE Corporate Tax returns and related documentation.
- Maintain tax records and support tax assessments or audits.
Analytical & Control Functions
- Conduct variance analysis on financial performance vs. budget and prior periods.
- Identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and recommend corrective actions.
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure adherence to company accounting policies.
- Support management with financial insights and analytical reports.
ERP & Systems
- Work extensively with ERP accounting systems for posting, reporting, and reconciliation.
- Assist in system improvements, automation initiatives, and process optimization.
Other Responsibilities
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams for financial data and reporting needs.
- Support Accounts Manager in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.
- Mentor junior accounting staff when required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education & Professional Background
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (mandatory).
- Part-qualified CA / ACCA / CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
- Minimum 4–6 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the UAE.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, UAE VAT, and Corporate Tax regulations.
- Proficiency in ERP accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Advanced MS Excel and financial analysis skills.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to AED8,000.00 per month
