SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Alpha Corporation is seeking a meticulous and driven Senior Accountant with 4–5 years of experience to join our finance team in Islamabad. You will own the month-end close, strengthen financial controls, deliver accurate reporting, and help scale our accounting operations. This role offers direct mentorship from management, hands-on exposure to business strategy, and a clear pathway to grow into an Accounting Manager position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the full month-end close cycle, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Maintain and reconcile complex general ledger accounts (accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, intercompany).
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with insightful commentary for senior management.
• Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors and tax consultants, preparing schedules and ensuring a smooth audit process.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation to strengthen internal controls and efficiency.
• Review and approve high-value vendor payments, customer invoices, and employee expense reports.
• Mentor and review the work of junior accounting staff, fostering accuracy and professional development.
• Support ERP upgrades, system implementations, and other strategic finance projects.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
• 4–5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with a mix of public accounting and industry.
• Actively pursuing or holding a CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent certification (strongly preferred).
• Strong working knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP) and internal controls.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and hands-on experience with an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to communicate financial information clearly.
• Confidence to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
• Must be a current resident of Islamabad or Rawalpindi.
