A Senior Accountant is responsible for managing advanced accounting functions, ensuring financial accuracy, supporting compliance, and assisting management with financial reporting and decision-making.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, prepare accurate financial reports, ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, and support month-end and year-end closing activities. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, excellent knowledge of accounting principles, and experience with ERP/accounting software.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing process.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and intercompany transactions.
- Maintain and monitor the general ledger for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and provide required documentation.
- Prepare tax-related schedules and support statutory filings.
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Analyze financial data and identify variances or trends.
- Improve accounting processes and internal controls.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, as required.
- Support management with financial reporting and strategic decision-making.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CA, or CMA is preferred.
- 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and applicable tax regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
