Senior Accountant (Hospitality & Real Estate Portfolio)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly capable, hands-on Senior Accountant to support a growing portfolio of hospitality and real estate businesses, including a golf course, boutique hotel, and retreat center.

This role will own the full accounting cycle across multiple entities while staying close to day-to-day operations. You will work directly with ownership and our external financial manager to maintain clean, accurate, and scalable financial systems.

This is a high agency role with significant growth potential as we continue to expand and acquire new projects. Self-sufficiency is necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own monthly close process across multiple entities (journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting)
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Maintain books in accordance with GAAP; apply USALI standards for hotel operations
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Support payroll processing and coordination
  • Track and manage cash flow across entities
  • Maintain clean financials across multiple LLCs and real estate holding entities
  • Assist with onboarding and basic HR administrative processes
  • Coordinate with external CPA and financial manager on reporting, tax prep, and financial strategy
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and reporting as the business grows

Qualifications

  • 4–8+ years of accounting experience (public or in-house)
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP; familiarity/experience with USALI preferred
  • Experience owning a full monthly close
  • Experience with multi-entity accounting structures
  • Background in hospitality, real estate, or small business environments preferred
  • Comfortable managing both high-level responsibilities and day-to-day execution
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Able to operate independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

Structure & Flexibility

  • Part-time role: ~25–30 hours per week
  • Primarily remote, with occasional in-person meetings in Liberty Station, Point Loma
  • Flexible schedule, with an emphasis on ownership and accountability

Additional Context

This is a hands-on role. You will be responsible for both owning the close and staying close to day-to-day accounting functions, including AP/AR. We are looking for someone who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and organization.

Pay: $50.00 per hour
