Senior Accountant - Treasury

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Accountant – Treasury to manage the company's treasury operations, banking relationships, cash flow management, and financial transactions. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of UAE banking practices, construction industry requirements, and ERP systems, with the ability to ensure smooth fund management and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily treasury operations and monitor cash flow requirements.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts and liquidity reports.
  • Ensure timely processing of supplier payments, subcontractor payments, salaries, and statutory obligations.
  • Monitor bank balances and optimize fund utilization.
  • Coordinate with management regarding funding requirements and cash availability.
  • Handle all banking transactions including transfers, LC, LG, bank guarantees, and other trade finance facilities.
  • Maintain relationships with banks and coordinate for financing requirements.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Manage corporate credit facilities and ensure compliance with banking covenants.
  • Prepare treasury-related reports and MIS reports for management.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Ensure accurate recording of receipts and payments in ERP systems.
  • Monitor accounts receivable collections and support accounts payable functions when required.
  • Coordinate with auditors and provide treasury-related schedules and documents.
  • Monitor project-related cash requirements and payment schedules.
  • Coordinate with project teams regarding supplier and subcontractor payments.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and financial controls.
  • Support VAT compliance and statutory reporting requirements in the UAE.
  • Implement and maintain treasury controls and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and financial regulations.
  • Maintain proper documentation of banking and treasury transactions.
  • Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation measures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
  • Professional qualifications such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent will be an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years of UAE experience in treasury and accounting functions within a contracting/construction company.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE banking operations, cash flow management, LC, LG, and trade finance.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Focus, Tally, or ERPNext.
  • Good understanding of UAE VAT regulations and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
