This position is with the Office of Administration, Division of Facilities Management, Design, and Construction (OA-FMDC), supporting the CI Accounting team within the Budget and Accounting Unit. OA-FMDC is committed to strengthening the State’s investments while providing a safe and secure environment through innovative design solutions and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities - What you’ll do
  • Prioritize excellent customer service for wide and diverse network of internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to internal teams, state agencies, state officials, contractors, and the public.
  • Ensures the timely, accurate entry of CI fiscal data into encumbrance and payment documents in Trimble Unity Construct (eBuilder) and subsequent posting to SAM II Financial. Works directly with internal CI staff as well as outside agency CI coordinators to correct any funding or lack of documentation to process documents.
  • Runs daily reports from SAMII Financial to monitor encumbrance/expenditure activity as well as Trimble Unity Construct/eBuilder activities.
  • Updates all corresponding databases and spreadsheets to ensure the project transactions are current and accurate.
  • At various project phases, reviews unallocated project funding and cost summaries. If issues are evident, works with the appropriate CI staff to take any needed corrective actions.
  • Monitors and distributes daily correspondence received through electronic and/or physical inboxes for the CI Accounting team. This includes mailing certified paper checks to suppliers.
  • Initiates contact with supplier, CI staff, or agency CI Coordinators if additional information is required.
  • Assists in the development of new systems and procedures for the operation of the CI budget unit.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices (including applicable statutes, CSRs, statewide and OA policies relating to accounting) with the ability to apply them to varied accounting transactions.
  • Excellent attendance, work ethic, attention to detail, and critical thinking skills.
  • Working knowledge of SAM II Financial, the Data Warehouse, and Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute work independently with minimal supervision with a high level of discretion when dealing with sensitive/confidential information.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license from Missouri or from an adjacent state if you reside outside of Missouri.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced working knowledge of SAM II Financial and Data Warehouse (Access).
  • Ability to prioritize and execute statistical and financial data work independently with minimal supervision and acute attention to detail.

This position is in an office environment and job duties may include prolonged periods of seated work at a desk, typing, written and verbal communication, problem solving, and the occasional ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds. This list is not all inclusive, but a general representation of duties that may be encountered in this position; however, other duties may be assigned contingent upon business needs. Please note, this position is considered a “Category 1” under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), meaning the incumbent will be compensated for overtime (hours actually worked over forty hours in a workweek) at the rate equal to time worked.
