The Senior Analyst – Investment & Strategy
will perform intermediate to advanced analytical, financial, and operational tasks related to evaluating proposed deals and managing existing investments. The role supports the department head in sourcing, assessing, structuring, negotiating, closing, monitoring, and exiting investments, as well as leading research initiatives and contributing to the formulation of corporate strategy at Imkan’s group level.
The ideal candidate will have strong exposure to M&A, portfolio theory, and portfolio optimization, along with advanced knowledge of valuation methodologies such as NPV, IRR, DCF, and comparable valuation techniques. Proficiency in MS Office, excellent communication and presentation skills, and strong leadership abilities are essential; fluency in English is required, while Arabic is an advantage. Key responsibilities include screening, identifying, and analyzing new investment opportunities, as well as exploring potential business alliances, joint ventures, mergers, and diversification opportunities across new revenue streams.
Objectives

Screen, identify, and analyze new investment opportunities. Support IMKAN Group companies in analyzing assets and projects (e.g. development, operating projects, any capital budgeting initiatives, etc.), lead in sourcing, negotiations and closing of transactions to enhance Group’s revenue and profitability.

Assist the head of department & senior team members in developing the Long-Range Plan (5-year LRP) in coordination with the Finance department based on shareholders’ & CEO strategic objectives, vison, and direction; by addressing their requirements and ensuring the alignment with the risk and investment policy guidelines of IMKAN.

Promote IMKAN as the real estate company that shall create value for itself and for other companies (Group and non-Group).

Responsible for finding potential for business alliances, joint ventures, mergers and diversification of business into other revenue streams.

Provide strategic investment advice with an exit plan, track progress of current investments/assets/ group companies (budget vs. actual), highlight areas of improvement and refine business plans of Imkan’s group companies.

In charge of IMKAN’s group corporate finance activities. Provide funding requirements solutions: debt, equity, mezzanine, and any other alternative. Work closely with investment banks in order to propose unconventional financing options to support activities at the corporate underlying assets’ level (structured debt, syndication of equity, sale of receivables, valuation of assets, others).

Recommend projects’ optimal capital structure and company’s capital budgeting.

Perform market, investment & trend research to support Imkan’s overall strategic and operational decision making
Key Responsibilities

Collects financial and investment information about investments opportunities using various reports, economic forecasts, financial periodicals, securities manuals, company financial statements and other financial reports and publications

Reviews and evaluates business plans and other materials related to investment opportunities

Conducts research on sub-real estate sectors and specific markets

Undertakes a rigorous review of the target asset, including legal, financial, environmental, management, commercial and market due diligence

Contributes to the investment analysis, bringing to the table knowledge of the sector/geography and experience in asset value creation

Creates full valuation models for potential investment targets, including modelling of financial projections and sensitivity analysis

Assists in the preparation of the Company’s strategy and long-range plan

Provide corporate finance services to Imkan’s company, its subsidiaries and associates where such services include but not limited to business plans, valuations, investments recommendation, etc.

Assists in the investment process from sourcing to completion including the organization and execution of due diligence as well as preparation of investment recommendation

Makes recommendations suggesting appropriate actions and credit strategy, including the restructuring of covenants and other debt terms where required

Oversees completion and funding of the transaction and post completion handover

Conducts regular analysis of financial and qualitative information from existing investments/assets/projects to assess their trading performance relative to the original financing plan

Assumes responsibility for many important deal execution functions and regularly/ effectively interact and work with senior management teams

Supports the line manager and the department head in all aspects of the deal cycle with particular focus on providing timely deliverables with full accountability on investment pitches and presentations as well as valuation models

Identifies risks and opportunities of potential investments as well as devising possible exit strategies

Develops reports providing investment advice and recommendations to senior management

Performs other responsibilities as required by line manager
Qualifications
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Specifications:

Bachelor's degree in finance, marketing, economics, business management or any relevant field.

MBA degree from a reputable business school or
CFA
is a plus. At least 4-7 of relevant experience in all aspects of investment, strategy and asset management or related functions

Ability to handle heavy workload, and work effectively within a team

Exposure to M&A, portfolio theory and portfolio optimization concepts.

Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills with experience creating and manipulating advanced financial models specifically for Real Estate & Direct investments

Advanced knowledge of valuation concepts like NPV, IRR and various valuation techniques like Discounted Cash Flows Method, Price Earnings Method, etc.

Proficient usage of MS Programs Fluency in English (written and spoken). Arabic is a plus

Excellent communication, presentation and great leadership skills
