Senior Analyst - Analytics and Systems

The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) is the supervisory and regulatory authority of the banking and insurance sector in the United Arab Emirates. The CBUAE is responsible for promoting monetary and financial stability and protecting consumers through effective supervision of licensed financial institutions, prudent management of reserves, robust financial infrastructure, and the adoption of digital technologies.

CBUAE is currently looking to hire an individual to join the Analytics and Systems team in the Reserve & Monetary Management Department (RMMD) reporting directly to the Head of Analytics and Systems. The team is responsible for the analytics and infrastructure development for the whole of RMMD, as well as for enhancement in areas such as the strategic and tactical asset allocation for the reserve management. The role holder supports the line manager and works with the clear goal of optimising the technical and operational infrastructure for the investment and monetary teams.

Key responsibilities include:

• Participate in the implementation and maintenance of front office systems (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Tradeweb).
• Design and develop automated management reports and dashboards using visualisation tools.
• Develop and implement advanced analytics solutions that help generate actionable investment insights and recommendations for the Reserve and Monetary management department.
• Contribute to the successful execution of technical projects by participating in system upgrades, data integration, and automation initiatives, including project planning, testing, and documentation.
• Develop solutions that for strategic and tactical asset allocation analysis and portfolio optimisation.
• Foster a culture of data-driven decision making by promoting the use of analytics and educating the department.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in trading and analytics tools and technologies, and evaluate their potential to enhance department’s capabilities.
• Perform any other duties as directed by management.

Position Specifications:

• Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology or Statistics, or a related field or relevant subject.
• Relevant professional certification in data science.
• 4+ years of experience in international banking preferably with buy side institutions like Central Bank, SWFs, pension funds and/or major policy institutions (IMF, World Bank).
• Strong expertise in front office functionalities including pricing & valuations, risk analytics, and market data integration.
• Experience in managing big data and implementing data science projects to generate insights.
• Experience in programming languages like Python, R and SQL along with machine learning libraries are essential.
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualisation tools like Dataiku, Tableau and Power BI.
• Experience implementing front office solutions like order management, portfolio management, portfolio performance and risk analytics solutions. Working experience with Calypso, Bloomberg and MSCI BarraOne would be an advantage.
• Experience in performance attribution and risk model, including the testing and reconciliation, would be an advantage.
• Deep understanding of financial instruments, including Fixed Income (FI), Derivatives, Money Markets, Equities, Bond Futures, and Interest Rate Swaps (IRS).
• Project management experience would be an advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
