We are seeking an experienced, detail‑oriented Senior Bookkeeper to take ownership of our day‑to‑day bookkeeping and ensure our financial records are accurate, timely, and audit‑ready.
Position Overview
The Senior Bookkeeper will manage the company’s full‑cycle bookkeeping, including accounts payable and receivable, bank and credit card reconciliations, payroll coordination, and month‑end close. This role works closely with ownership and our external CPA and requires someone who is comfortable operating independently in a small‑business environment.
This is a hands‑on role, ideal for someone who enjoys owning the books end‑to‑end and improving processes.
Key ResponsibilitiesCore Bookkeeping & Accounting
- Maintain accurate and complete general ledger records
- Record daily financial transactions and journal entries
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts monthly
- Manage accounts payable and ensure timely vendor payments
- Manage accounts receivable, customer invoicing, and collections
- Maintain organized financial documentation and records
Payroll & Compliance
- Prepare and process payroll or coordinate with payroll providers
- Ensure accurate payroll entries and benefit deductions
- Prepare and file Texas sales tax reports and other required filings
- Support compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements
Month‑End & Reporting
- Perform month‑end close procedures
- Prepare monthly financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Review accounts for accuracy and resolve discrepancies proactively
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow tracking
- Coordinate with external CPA for year‑end close and tax preparation
Process Improvement
- Improve bookkeeping workflows, controls, and documentation
- Recommend tools or automation to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Support leadership with financial insights as needed
Qualifications & ExperienceRequired
- 5+ years of bookkeeping or full‑charge bookkeeping experience
- Strong proficiency with QuickBooks (Online or Desktop)
- Solid understanding of GAAP and small‑business accounting
- Experience with AP, AR, reconciliations, payroll, and sales tax
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage deadlines independently with minimal supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Trustworthy with confidential financial information
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification
- Experience working with inventory or product‑based businesses
- Experience supporting small or family‑owned businesses
- Experience working directly with CPAs on monthly and annual close
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills

Pay: $26.64 - $32.08 per hour
