Senior Bookkeeper – Collision Operations

Job Summary

Ideal Auto Group is seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to oversee financial records and accounting processes for our collision repair operations across multiple locations. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, insurance claim tracking, vendor payments, and profitability monitoring for each collision center.

This position works closely with shop managers, and the central finance department.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Oversight

  • Maintain accurate financial records for all collision shop operations
  • Reconcile daily repair orders and insurance claim payments
  • Monitor accounts receivable related to insurance carriers
  • Track parts purchases and vendor invoices

Accounting & Reporting

  • Prepare monthly financial reports for each collision location
  • Monitor repair margins and labor profitability
  • Assist Controller with financial closing

Insurance & Claims Accounting

  • Track insurance payments and supplements
  • Monitor unpaid insurance claims
  • Coordinate with estimators on claim adjustments

Accounts Payable

  • Review parts invoices and vendor bills
  • Ensure proper coding for the accounting system

Process & Compliance

  • Maintain documentation for audits
  • Ensure financial compliance with company policy

Skills

  • Extensive experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks,CCC one.
  • Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles and non-profit accounting practices when applicable.
  • Knowledge of governmental accounting standards and tax experience related to vehicle collision operations is a plus.
  • Proficiency in balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and general ledger accounting.
  • Solid grasp of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation, debits & credits.
  • Ability to perform detailed account analysis and prepare comprehensive financial reports accurately.
  • Excellent organizational skills with proficiency in 10 key typing for efficient data entry.
  • Experience with payroll processing and accounts payable/receivable management is highly desirable.

Experience:

  • 3+ years bookkeeping or accounting
  • Collision shop or auto dealership experience preferred
  • Experience with:
  • QuickBooks / Dealer Management System
  • Insurance claim accounting
  • Accounts receivable

  • Strong reconciliation skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Able to manage multiple locations

Pay: $55,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
