Position Summary

Crimson Wine Group is seeking a strategic, results-driven Senior Brand Manager to join our Marketing team. This is a truly cross-functional marketing role. You won’t just be managing a brand; you will be the architect of its growth across Wholesale, DTC, Club and Ecommerce channels. We are looking for a leader who balances the art of luxury storytelling with the science of business analytics to create uniquely wonderful wine experiences. Hybrid position - preferred location in the North Bay within one hour from Sonoma/Napa wineries.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Strategic Brand Stewardship (30%)

  • Drive the Vision: Lead the development and execution of annual brand strategies that increase consumer demand and portfolio profitability. Be the voice of your brand positioning by creating specific and attainable plans of action on how to accomplish brand goals – identify and execute promotional platforms, strategic partnerships, advertising planning, PR campaigns and experiential/events marketing.
  • Insight-Led Growth: Act as the primary owner of brand health, using internal data and external resources (Circana, SipSource) to identify market opportunities and white spaces.
  • Product Innovation: Manage the lifecycle of new product and packaging initiatives—from ideation and TTB compliance to successful market launch and tracking.

2. Multi-Channel Tactical Execution (30%)

  • Digital Leadership: Partner with the Ecommerce team to sharpen digital strategies across social media, SEO, and email marketing.
  • Financial Ownership: Manage the day-to-day brand budget, P&L levers, and PO processes with high precision.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Maintain a pulse on the luxury wine landscape, performing ongoing analysis of competitor pricing and promotional tactics.

3. Sales & DTC Integration (15%)

  • Trade Empowerment: Create high-impact sales tools, distributor presentations, and brand educational materials for the three-tier system.
  • Experience Design: Support the Tasting Room and Wine Club teams by developing promotional content, virtual/live event strategies, and compelling storytelling. Coordinate logistics and represent brands at key wine trade and consumer events.

4. Agency & Partner Management (15%)

  • Creative Direction: Lead external agencies (PR, Creative, Digital) to ensure brand visual identity remains premium and consistent.
  • Production Liaison: Collaborate with packaging designers and dry goods suppliers, managing press checks and label revisions.

5. Operational Excellence (10%)

  • Ensure all SKU-level compliance, pricing, and legal activities are current.
  • Draft wine technical copy, including back labels, tasting notes, and website content.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA is a plus. Wine certification preferred – WSET, CMS 5+ years of marketing experience in luxury goods or consumer products.
  • Wine/Spirits experience is highly preferred, specifically with a deep understanding of wine production, the three-tier system and general knowledge of legal restrictions of alcohol promotion and regulations.
  • Strong command of MS Office Suite and experience with pulling and evaluating IRI/Nielsen data, daily use of Ai tools. Familiarity with wine production/COGS is a significant advantage.
  • The "GM Mindset": You are a self-starter who treats the brand like your own business, making sound decisions that protect the bottom line without compromising quality. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute marketing strategies and plans.
  • An exceptional writer and speaker who can influence cross-functional partners and stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% (may include evenings/weekends and overnight stays)
  • Ability to lift and carry a case of wine (approx. 40–50 lbs).
  • Hybrid position - preferred location in the North Bay within one hour from Sonoma/Napa wineries.

The projected (base) pay range for this position is $135,000 to $145,000 per year in addition to potential annual bonus. This range is the projected compensation for this position however the actual compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as (but not limited to) candidate qualifications, related experience and education, candidate work location and market data.
