Otak is seeking an experienced Senior Bridge Engineer/Project Manager to join our growing Front Range team! Based in Colorado, this hybrid position offers the flexibility to work remotely up to four days per week, with one day in the office. In this role, you will lead bridge and structural projects from concept through construction, foster strong client relationships, and support the growth of Otak’s bridge practice. Our work includes vehicular and pedestrian bridges, new builds, full replacements, rehabilitations, and structural support for transportation projects across the region.

The ideal candidate will bring a proven background in bridge design and delivery, strong client development skills, and a passion for mentoring the next generation of engineers. Occasional travel to client sites or Otak offices may be required based on project or business needs. This position is a top priority for Otak, and if you are located outside the area and interested in relocating for this opportunity, relocation assistance will be provided.

What you'll do:

  • Serve as Project Manager and Lead Engineer on vehicular and pedestrian bridge projects, including new construction, replacements, and rehabilitations.
  • Oversee the preparation of design documents, including construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and supporting reports.
  • Perform and manage bridge inspections, load ratings, and repair recommendations.
  • Oversee the design of retaining walls and other structural components associated with bridge and transportation projects.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets while ensuring quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC).
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, participate in business development activities, and support proposal preparation, interviews, and contract negotiations.
  • Mentor junior engineers and staff, supporting their technical growth and professional development.

What you bring:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer.
  • Experience managing bridge projects from planning through construction.
  • 10+ years of proven experience in all aspects of bridge and structural engineering, as well as experience with CDOT and AASHTO standards.
  • Solid client service and business development skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, current bridge and structural software applications, and bridge management applications.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work with various teams throughout the organization.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience, qualifications, and work location as well as market and business considerations.

Salary Range: $115,000 - $145,000 per year
