Why does the job exist?

Maintain responsibility and oversight of assigned projects. Increase bureau efficiency. Manage program data. Day-to-day operations including but not limited to procurement, accounts receivable, tracking equipment, partnering with IT and e-waste. Securing and management of contracts and grants. Assisting with and ensuring timely responses of inspections of public records requests.
How does it get done?

  • Assist in contract management, reconciliation, grant requirements, tracking/managing fees and equipment
  • Follow up on delinquent debt and assist with enforcement actions
  • Submitting reports and public records, reviewing data analytics and completing data entry
  • Create and manage a centralized email system
  • Coordinate with Albuquerque staff, owners of permitted facilities, State Records and Archives, NMED General Counsel, NMED IT, and the public

  • Occasional contact with external Federal, State and Local regulatory bodies as well as contractors and environmental not for profit organizations.

Ideal Candidate

Minimum Qualification

Associate Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or Accounting and one (1) year of directly related job experience in the areas of office administration, budgeting, purchasing, finance, accounting, auditing, cash management, contract management, and/or in the procedures of business and management principles involved in strategic planning. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling three (3) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting. Exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending, and reaching may be required.
