Job Summary:

The Senior Buyer is responsible for managing the company's day-to-day purchasing and sourcing activities for materials, components, equipment, spare parts, consumables, and services required for diesel generator manufacturing, assembly, testing, projects, sales, installation, and after-sales service.

The position is responsible for ensuring that all required materials are purchased at the right quality, quantity, price, and delivery schedule, while maintaining strong supplier relationships and supporting uninterrupted production and project execution.

The Senior Buyer will source and evaluate suppliers, request and compare quotations, negotiate commercial terms, prepare and process Purchase Orders, monitor supplier commitments, expedite deliveries, resolve purchasing issues, and maintain accurate procurement documentation.

The position requires a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and generator-related components, together with excellent negotiation, analytical, follow-up, and coordination skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Purchasing and Procurement

• Manage day-to-day activities based on the approved Purchase requisitions/Job Cards, Materials requests, Stock requisitions, Project Requirements, and Production Requirements
• Review purchasing requests to ensure that specifications, quantities, required dates and other information are complete before sourcing
• Sourcing materials and services from approved qualified suppliers
• Ensure all purchases are made in accordance with the company procurement procedures and approval requirements
• Purchase materials within approved budgets and authorized limits
• Ensure that required materials are available before production, project, installations, or service deadlines
• Identify purchasing requirements that may have long lead times, and initiate procurement early.
• Maintain proper follow ups of all outstanding purchasing requirements.

Generator Industry specific purchasing

• The senior buyer must have sufficient technical understanding to source and purchase generator components and related materials, including but not limited to the following:
• Diesel Engine Components
• Alternators
• Control Panels and Controllers
• Electrical Components
• Mechanical Components
• Generator Canopy and Fabrication materials
• General production and workshop materials

Supplier Sourcing and Development

• Identify and develop reliable local and international suppliers
• Search for new suppliers for generator components, spare parts, electrical materials, mechanical components, fabrication materials, and consumables
• Obtain supplier profiles, catalogs, technical datasheets, certifications and commercial information
• Evaluate Suppliers based on the following:
• Price
• Quality
• Delivery capability
• Product availability
• Technical capability
• Warranty
• Payment Terms
• After-sales support
• reliability

Price and Contract Negotiation

• Negotiate competitive pricing with suppliers
• Request discounts for bulk orders, repeat purchases, annual requirements, multiple projects and long term supply arrangements

Purchase Order Management

• Prepare Purchase Orders based on approved quotations, and internal approvals
• Ensure purchase orders accurately reflect approved requirements
• Obtain supplier acknowledgement and confirmation
• Ensure any changes to an approved PO are properly authorized
• Maintain accurate P.O records

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors degree in Procurement, supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 5-8 years of purchasing / Buying experience
• Experience in Generator manufacturing, power generation, industrial machinery, electrical equipment, mechanical equipment, is strongly preferred but not required
• Must be computer and AI Tools literate
• Detail oriented with strong ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make decisions under pressure
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
• Freshers in UAE with Home Country experience are welcome to apply!
