CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR JOB DESCRIPTION

Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Estimator Engineer and Procurement Specialist with knowledge, tools and ambition to work from home/remote by joining our growing dynamic team using your own basic software and communications tools remotely. The ideal candidate must possess a strong foundation in engineering principles, coupled with exceptional estimating, procurement, research and analysis and communications expertise.

Core Responsibilities:

Estimate Project Costs:

  • Analyze project plans, blueprints, specifications, and other documents to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for architectural and engineering projects, including all trades required to estimate and build a project, like electrical, plumbing, earthwork, concrete, asphalt, MEP, Fire and utilities, etc.
  • Develop accurate cost models if required and estimates to support bidding and project planning.
  • Prepare and analyze bid documents, including specifications, drawings, and proposals.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and subcontractors for project requirements.
  • Negotiate contracts and purchase orders with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve optimal pricing and delivery terms.
  • Manage procurement processes, including vendor selection, contract administration, and purchase order management.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials and equipment.

Bid Preparations:

  • Develop and submit bids as required on bidding portals, physical submission etc., for construction projects based on owners provided bid documents, and cost estimates taking into consideration all the known and unknown requirements.
  • Collaborate with inhouse teams, designers, architects, engineers, vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, clients and all stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

Research & Analysis:

  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, pricing, and new technologies.
  • Research and analyze market data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.

Project Management & Communications:

  • Monitor project costs and track expenses to ensure projects stay within budget.
  • Prepare RFI/RFQ and submit to vendors, suppliers, subcontractors
  • Prepare submittals and change orders as required. (Project Management & Comm)
  • Use communications tools like email, phone and video conferencing to collaborate with inhouse and remote teams.
  • Prepare life cycle reports on each project for immediate and future review and usage.
  • Prepare SOP's for all functions performed as a must for eventually being a successful leader.

Other Duties:

  • Stay updated on industry trends, construction costs, and procurement best practices.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate project costs and status.
  • Assist in the development of project budgets and schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Maintain records for preferred vendors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in estimating and procurement.
  • Knowledge of the US construction process.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (Bluebeam, Planswift etc.) and construction industry standards.
  • Revit, AutoCAD and 3D modelling knowledge desirable not required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills. (US accent preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements:

  • Must have dedicated space to work uninterrupted and without disturbances comfortably.
  • Must have Planswift
  • Must have acceptable work equipment like computer, adequate computer screen to display large drawings, phone to be able to perform latest communication tasks, and estimating software to perform the duties of an Estimator.
  • Must be able to download sharing and monitoring software for reviewing, collaboration and monitoring functions for supervisors and administrative staff.
  • Must be willing to work minimum 50 hours a week - Monday thru Friday 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM to 02:00 PM PST (Pacific Standard Time).
  • Must work full time as a salaried associate and not take on side jobs that would conflict with interest of time, energy and resources.
  • Experience with American Company preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs175,000.00 - Rs275,000.00 per month

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Construction Estimating: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Operations & Management of Estimators: 2 years (Preferred)
