Senior Consultant Endocrinology

The Senior Consultant in Endocrinology is responsible for delivering high-level, consultant-led care across the full spectrum of endocrine and metabolic disorders, with particular expertise in diabetes management, complex endocrine conditions, and metabolic diseases .

The role includes clinical leadership, supervision of junior physicians, and contribution to service development within a governmental tertiary-care setting.

Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical Care

• Provide comprehensive endocrine care across outpatient, inpatient, and consultative services
• Manage complex cases
• Participate in consultant on-call coverage
• Ensure adherence to evidence-based clinical practice
• Lead the management of complex and multi-system endocrine conditions
• Develop and implement diabetes and metabolic care pathways
• Support specialized clinics (e.g., diabetes, thyroid, osteoporosis)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care
• Contribute to improving clinical outcomes through standardized protocols
• Supervise and mentor Specialists and junior physicians
• Participate in clinical audits, morbidity & mortality reviews
• Support teaching and CME activities
• Ensure compliance with Qatar MoPH (DHP) licensing and scope of practice
• Maintain high standards of clinical documentation

Qualifications

• Medical Degree (MBBS / MD or equivalent)
• Recognized Board Certification in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology
• Minimum 5 years post-board/fellowship experience in Endocrinology
• Proven experience in managing complex endocrine cases in a tertiary-care setting

Preferred Qualifications

• Arabic-speaking
• Experience in governmental or tertiary-care hospitals
• Previous leadership experience (Unit Lead / Deputy HOD / Program Lead)
• Academic or research involvement
• International certification (UK / European / American Boards preferred)
