Senior Defense Technologist (Operational Planning, Wargaming & Exercises)

MTSI is seeking a Senior Defense Technologist for Operational Planning, Wargaming, and Exercises, you will play a pivotal role in support for the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering (OUSW(R&E)) Mission Capabilities (MC) Multi-Domain Joint Operations (MDJO).

You will blend operational expertise with innovative technology approaches to drive the assessment of military effectiveness and engineering viability in critical DoD programs. This role demands a strategist with a deep understanding of research, development, and program transition efforts within DoD initiatives. This position is located in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Responsibilities:

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

Conceiving, planning, and conducting exercises and wargaming.
Assessing military effectiveness and engineering viability.
Shepherding collaboration agreements.
Navigating foreign disclosure processes.
Generating support documentation (e.g., scenario, background, order of battle).

Qualifications Required:

15 years of experience in operational planning, wargaming, and/or exercise planning.
Demonstrated experience in use of advanced techniques, theories, precepts, and practices in technological programs, preferably as has transitioned to operational use.

Education:

Master's degree required.
Doctoral degree highly preferred.

Even better if you have these desired skills:

Experience with program transition efforts
Joint Staff experience

Clearance Requirements:

An active Top Secret (TS) security clearance (with SCI and SAP/CAP eligibility) is required.
