Senior Director of Digital Marketing
Full Time : Remote
Who we are looking for:You’ll lead the evolution of our Digital Marketing practice for Mid-Market to Enterprise Brands, optimizing org structure, improving workflows, formalizing performance governance, and enhancing playbooks.
You’ll help shape the team across key functions: paid media, email/CRM, affiliate, content/influencer, SEO/SEM, and Shopify/CRO, bringing strategic direction and operational rigor.
Hands-on when it counts, but focused on designing the systems, team dynamics, and operating model that enable scale and sustained performance.

What You’ll Do (Practice Building & Leadership)
- Architect the practice: Define org structure, role charters, capacity models, and career ladders; sequence hiring to meet revenue targets.
- Establish the operating model: Build intake, scoping, resourcing, and QA workflows; set SLAs, RACI, and escalation paths.
- Create the playbooks: Standardize channel frameworks (Search, DSP, Paid Social, SEO, Email/CRM, Affiliate, CRO), testing roadmaps, and brand safety guidelines.
- Stand up performance governance: Define KPIs (MER, ROAS/CPA, LTV/CAC, contribution margin), create dashboards, and run weekly performance and monthly/quarterly business reviews.
- Hire and mentor: Recruit high-caliber leaders/specialists; coach for mastery; install rituals for feedback, learning, and advancement.
- Own client outcomes (through the team): Guide strategy, ensure on-time/on-budget execution, and proactively surface growth opportunities.
- Level up web & conversion: Oversee Shopify roadmap, landing page standards, CRO methodology, and analytics hygiene.Align cross-functionally: Partner with Creative, Analytics, and Marketplace teams so campaigns look great, measure clean, and actually move the needle.
- Scale with tooling: Rationalize the MarTech stack (GA4, tag management, ESP/CRM, attribution, BI) and drive automation where it saves time or sharpens decisions.
- P&L savvy: Collaborate on pricing, scoping, and margin management; forecast team capacity vs. revenue; support SOW standards and renewal/expansion motions.
- Future-proofing: Evaluate new channels, retail media betas, and AI/automation—pilot, measure, roll out when it works.
Day-to-Day (Leadership vs. Hands-On)
- 70% leadership & systems: Strategy, coaching, hiring, governance, resourcing, client senior stewardship.
- 30% hands-on (selective): High-impact audits, critical launches, or unblockers that model “what good looks like.”
Who You’ll Work With
- Lead the Digital Marketing Team (channel leads, strategists, specialists).
- Report to the VP of Client Services; partner closely with Creative, Analytics, Marketplace (Amazon), and Web.
Must-Haves
- 10+ years in multi-channel digital for e-commerce; 5+ years leading teams and building functions/practices.
- You bring deep, hands-on expertise in digital media campaign management — not just to execute, but to elevate. You'll help uplevel the practice by coaching and guiding our ad managers, instilling operational excellence, strategic rigor, and platform mastery across the team.
- Proven success designing and implementing multi-channel campaigns across search, display, DSP, and paid social platforms.
- Proven record building: org design, hiring plans, playbooks, and operating models that scale.
- Strong client leadership in an agency or multi-brand environment; comfortable running C-level conversations.
- Hands-on experience with Shopify and website optimization.
- Strong written and personal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of various current digital marketing functions.
- Deep knowledge of digital marketing channels, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, social media, and affiliate marketing.
- Hands-on experience with Shopify and website development.
- Experience working with clients and managing projects and strategies.
- Understanding of the e-commerce landscape.
- Great people manager and mentor passionate about helping everyone on the digital marketing team grow, improve, succeed, and advance toward collective and individual goals.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Highly dependable, very organized, and able to work independently and remotely.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with retail media networks (Amazon Ads/DSP), affiliate/influencer programs, and SEO leadership.
- Analytics stack depth (GA4, tag managers, attribution, Looker/Data Studio/BI).
- Change management and training program design.
