Senior Electrical Design Engineer

EGEC Qatar is looking for a highly qualified Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team. The ideal candidate will oversee all electrical engineering design and execution activities across major projects, ensuring compliance with technical standards, project schedules, and budget requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of electrical design strategies, pre-concept studies, layouts, and detailed electrical designs throughout all project phases.
• Review consultant and contractor submissions including drawings, RFIs, material submittals, technical documents, and invoices.
• Ensure proper integration and coordination of electrical systems with architectural, mechanical, and civil disciplines.
• Monitor consultant and contractor performance to ensure adherence to quality standards, budgets, and project timelines.
• Coordinate with procurement and contracts teams regarding technical specifications, approvals, and material compliance.
• Participate in project completion and handover processes, reviewing and endorsing completion certificates and related documentation.
• Support project teams in resolving technical issues and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in electrical design and PMC/construction projects.
• Strong experience in large-scale commercial, mixed-use, hospitality, or infrastructure developments.
• Excellent knowledge of electrical systems design, coordination, and site supervision.
• Familiarity with international standards and codes.
• Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with international consultants and contractors is an advantage.
• Professional certifications are considered a plus.
