Roles and Responsibilities
Basic Purpose of the role
Responsible for supporting the Manager in ensuring that all electrical networks and systems are in accordance with SEHA and local authority safety and management standards, policies and procedures, statutory and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities of the role
Supervising the planning and designing of all electrical works
- Providing direction and guidance on any electrical system and/ or network design drawings
- Providing advice on the type and arrangement of circuits, circuit-breakers, and equipment, based on calculations
- Preparing and interpreting specifications, drawings and regulations for the use of electric power equipment
- Overseeing delivery and installation schedules for machines, cables and fittings
- Ensuring that completed works meet specifications and safety standards, contributing and adhering to the safety requirements of the operation
- Assisting the Engineer in reviewing all electrical drawings submitted by contractors/ consultants
Managing and monitoring day to day activities
- Overseeing all activities relating to electrical works before, during and after the execution of the projects
- Monitoring and ensuring that all works are carried out in accordance with the contract drawings, specification, instructions and programmers
- Monitoring all planning, arrangement and control of material compliance testing/evaluation and ensuring relevant records are maintained
- Planning and conducting regular record inspection and test activities for materials and workmanship
- Approving and assisting the Engineer in resolving all recorded technical queries
- Assisting and providing guidance to the Engineer in risk assessments
Documentation and planning
- Ensuring document control systems for the facilities and construction and maintenance information (if applicable)
- Ensuring all method statements are prepared as required
- Planning annually for electrical networks and systems for up gradation and replacement
- Assisting the Manager in budgetary planning for any electrical equipment replacement
- Preparing material ‘take-offs’, price comparisons and order materials as required, if applicable
Communicating and coordinating
- Communicating and consulting with other healthcare disciplines and all engineering and risk and safety departments
- Attending interdisciplinary meetings to provide technical support and advice
- Participating in joint meetings with members of the Health Authority Engineering Directorate
- Participating in the development, communication and evaluation of standards, procedures and protocols
- Liaising regularly with facility staff, and end users, to ensure that projects run smoothly and any areas of concern are addressed and resolved
- Communicating and coordinating with local authorities for regulatory compliance e.g. ADDC, AADC, ADEWA
Communicating and coordinating

Contributing to team effort
- Participating in cross-functional teams and committees as appropriate
- Developing and enhancing team procedure manual and processes and discussed with seniors
- Managing his/her subordinates and ensuring team development and complaint resolution, setting KPI’s for direct reports and conducting performance appraisal and driving motivation levels of direct reports
- Assuring Engineers and inspectors complete work on time and effectively
- Overseeing work assigned for enquiries and inspections

Qualifications, Certifications and Experience
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering or in a relevant technical discipline OR Diploma in relevant field with 3 years of additional experience
- Desired: Master's degree or equivalent in Engineering or in a relevant technical discipline
Experience Required
- Required: 4-6 years of relevant experience in a similar industry
- Desired: Experience in a large healthcare facility

Pay: AED12,000.00 - AED15,000.00 per month
