Responsibilities:

To lead and manage electrical staff to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all electrical installations through effective use of the computerized maintenance management system. The role is responsible for ensuring that all maintenance and repair activities are executed in accordance with approved engineering standards, safety requirements, and best practices, while optimizing resources and controlling costs.

Specifically, he will be responsible for:

  • Lead, supervise, and manage electrical staff to ensure all operation, repair, and maintenance activities are executed in accordance with approved engineering standards, statutory requirements, and best practices.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive maintenance programs, major overhauls, and emergency breakdown maintenance of electrical plants and systems to ensure high reliability and availability.
  • Develop and deliver structured technical training programs for electrical staff to enhance competency, system knowledge, and adherence to safe work practices.
  • Provide advanced training and technical guidance to electrical and MEP staff on electronically controlled equipment, integrated MEP systems, and Building Management System (BMS) hardware and interfaces.
  • Lead energy conservation and efficiency initiatives by analyzing consumption trends, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing cost-effective solutions in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with internal users, clinical departments, and support services to ensure service quality, timely resolution of issues, and sustained user satisfaction.
  • Conduct periodic inspections and technical audits of electrical installations across AKU facilities to ensure system integrity, regulatory compliance, and minimization of unplanned outages.
  • Monitor and review ongoing major maintenance works and projects, ensuring quality, safety compliance, adherence to specifications, and timely completion.
  • Enforce electrical safety policies and procedures, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards across all electrical activities.
  • Prepare technical reports, maintenance records, and performance summaries, and undertake any other engineering-related responsibilities as assigned by senior management.
  • Coordinate and oversee routine inspection, testing, and maintenance of electrical interfaces and power supplies associated with fire suppression and fire alarm systems, ensuring system readiness, compliance with applicable fire and life safety standards, and integration with BMS and emergency power systems.

Requirements:

  • B.E. Electrical
  • At least 5 years related work experience including 2-3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical teams, users, contractors, and senior management.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to and manage electrical and MEP emergencies with sound technical judgment, prioritization, and minimal service disruption.
  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience of PLC-based control systems, automated plant operations, and integration with BMS and other monitoring platforms.
  • Sound understanding of mechanical systems and interfaces relevant to electrical and MEP installations, with the ability to troubleshoot cross-discipline issues.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of tools, test instruments, equipment, and materials used in the electrical trade, including their safe and appropriate application.
  • Proficiency in the use of relevant computer applications and engineering software for maintenance management, monitoring, reporting, and technical analysis.
