Job Summary

Dubai Municipality is seeking highly qualified professionals to join its Building Permits Department as Senior Structural Engineer and Senior Architectural Engineer. These roles are central to the technical review and approval of building permit applications submitted through the DM-BPS (Dubai Municipality – Building Permit System). The ideal candidates will ensure that all construction projects meet Dubai’s engineering standards, zoning regulations, and safety codes, while facilitating efficient and compliant approval workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Approving Authority for:

1. Building permits
2. Structural approvals
3. Architectural compliance

• Conduct detailed technical reviews of architectural and structural drawings submitted by consultants and contractors
• Evaluate applications for:

1. Fit-out and renovation works
2. Zoning and planning compliance

• Ensure all submissions comply with:

1. Dubai Municipality building codes and regulations
2. Urban planning and zoning standards
3. Safety and sustainability guidelines

• Provide expert feedback and request revisions where necessary to meet compliance
• Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve technical queries
• Maintain accurate records of approvals, rejections, and correspondence within DM-BPS
• Support the Engineering Qualification Committee in evaluating professional credentials and licensing applications

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering (for Structural role) or Architecture (for Architectural role)
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in engineering design, technical review, or regulatory compliance within Dubai
• Proven expertise in:

1. DM-BPS system operations
2. Dubai Engineering Qualification System (DEQ).
3. Municipal codes, structural safety standards, and architectural regulations

• Strong analytical and decision-making skills in high-volume approval environments
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities across multidisciplinary teams
• Membership with the Society of Engineers (SOE) is required
