The Senior Facilities Engineer is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and optimization of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems within the facility. The role ensures efficient performance, safety compliance, and reliability of building infrastructure while leading technical teams and managing contractors to deliver high‑quality facilities services.
Facilities Operations & Maintenance
- Lead daily operations of MEP, HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, fire protection, BMS, and other critical building systems.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance plans to minimize downtime.
- Monitor performance and efficiency of systems, identifying opportunities for improvement.
2. Technical Oversight
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures and provide technically sound solutions.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, load calculations, and equipment selections.
3. Project Management
- Plan, manage, and execute facility upgrade projects, equipment replacements, and energy-efficiency initiatives.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and consultants for project execution.
- Prepare project scopes, technical specifications, budgets, and timelines.
4. Energy & Sustainability
- Monitor energy consumption and recommend cost‑saving initiatives.
- Implement sustainability programs aligned with organizational goals (e.g., energy efficiency, water conservation, green certifications).
5. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all equipment and systems comply with UAE regulations, civil defense requirements, and environmental health and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of permits, inspections, maintenance logs, and asset records.
6. Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor technicians and junior engineers.
- Oversee contractor performance and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Conduct technical training sessions for the facilities team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (required).
- 6–10+ years of experience in facilities engineering, MEP maintenance, or building operations—preferably in commercial, industrial, or large mixed‑use environments.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical distribution networks, pumps, motors, automation systems, and fire protection systems.
- Experience with BMS/CMMS systems.
- Familiarity with UAE building codes, local authority regulations, and safety standards (Dubai Municipality, DEWA, Civil Defense, etc.).
