Senior Financial Analyst, Commercial and Alliance Management

Job Summary:

The Senior Financial Analyst of Commercial and Alliance Management is a key member of the Finance organization that directly supports our Alliance business partner relationships and commercial organization. Reporting to the Manager of Commercial and Alliance Management, this role works closely with key stakeholders across multiple departments, functions, and external organizations. The Senior Financial Analyst will support Alliances as well as the Commercial Finance team in revenue and operating expenses related forecasting and accounting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Alliance management, accounting and decision support:

• Assist in managing the financial aspects of the Company’s various external business partner relationships, including but not limited to, Collaboration agreements, license agreements and out-license agreements.
• Assist the budgeting and reforecasting processes for various Alliance partners.
• Assist with relevant monthly and quarterly close related activities, including general ledger accounting, variance analysis and account reconciliations.
• Assist with billings, collections and cost-sharing arrangements with each Alliance partner, as appropriate.

Revenue related planning, accounting and decision support:

• Support gross-to-net sales revenue recognition models including gross to net calculations in support of quarterly budgets/forecasts, long range plans and contracting strategies.
• Assist with monthly close processes for commercial products and related analysis of period unit sales, payer reimbursement mix and the impact of contracts and statutory rebates on gross to net deductions.

Commercial operational expenses:

• Assist with forecasting spend on a quarterly basis and develop reporting, predictive analytics, and actionable insights.
• Assist with monthly close activities, including general ledger accounting, variance analysis, and account reconciliations.
• Support contract review and full procure to pay cycle for commercial agreements.

Other areas:

• Maintain compliance with SOX requirements as well as US GAAP and Company policies.
• Prepare schedules in support of the quarterly and annual financial statements and assist team with external auditor requests.
• Other ad-hoc research, data analysis, department financial planning or Long-Range Planning projects as defined by the Director of Financial Reporting.

Knowledge and Other Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance/ CPA preferred.
• A minimum of four years of relevant experience, or equivalent public accounting experience, preferably within pharmaceutical or life science companies.
• Able to extract pertinent data from ERP system or other sources to support above duties, comfortable working with large data sets.
• Passionate about business excellence and continuous improvement in processes.
• Strong communication skills (written and oral) and a demonstrated ability to work effectively across functions.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
• Confidentiality and Integrity - must be able to represent and model integrity within the organization. Must possess and maintain the highest degree of security and confidentiality of information.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel required.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

• Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or carrying objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
• The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer screen, iPad, or other electronic device; and extensive reading
• The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions

Compensation:

At Supernus, we offer a competitive compensation package that reflects your experiences and contributions. The expected salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this role is $85,000 to $98,000. This range is what the Company reasonably expects to offer for the position and is not reflective of the full compensation scale of the role. This range may be modified in the future. An individual’s salary within the range is based on multiple factors, which may include and are not limited to education, relevant experience, knowledge, length of industry experience and organizational needs.

The total compensation package for this position also includes other compensation elements such as stock equity awards, employee stock purchase programs and participation in our Company’s discretionary annual bonus program.
