Required Qualifications:
- B.E. degree or Diploma
- Good English communication skills
- Preferably experience in Shipyard, with good knowledge of yard procedures and safety policies
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Supervise plating and fabrication activities, ensuring work is carried out according to drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
- Plan daily work schedules, allocate manpower, and coordinate with other trades.
- Review fabrication drawings and provide technical guidance to the team.
- Previous experience in FCAW, SMAW & GTAW welding techniques.
- Oversee cutting, shaping, welding, and assembly of structural steel, plates, and supports.
- Ensure proper alignment, measurements, and welding quality.
- Conduct inspections of fabricated items before installation.
- Enforce compliance with QHSE policies, permits, and safe work practices.
- Report defects, non-conformities, and initiate corrective measures.
- Lead a team of fabricators, welders, and helpers, providing training and mentoring.
- Coordinate with supervisor, safety, and QA/QC to ensure smooth workflow.
- Maintain productivity and timely completion of work targets.
- Monitor usage of tools, welding machines, consumables, and materials.
- Raise requests for additional materials or equipment when required.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and tool maintenance at the workplace.
- Competent with various types of NDT (Non-destructive testing) Desirable.
- Competent with various machine tools.
- Competency in oxy/gas cutting and gas heating.
- Previous experience with confined space and working at height.
