Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Google Cloud Apigee Administrator to manage, configure, and support Apigee API Management platforms in a large-scale enterprise cloud environment. This role is critical in ensuring high availability, performance, and security of our API infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, DevOps, and cloud architects, to deliver seamless API integration with backend systems and maintain operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy, configure, and maintain Apigee Edge or Apigee X environments on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Manage API proxies, policies, shared flows, target endpoints, KVMs, and virtual hosts in Apigee.

• Perform regular environment upgrades, patching, and configuration updates to ensure optimal performance and availability.

• Monitor API traffic, latency, and error rates using Apigee Analytics, Cloud Monitoring (Stackdriver), and related tools.

• Troubleshoot deployment and runtime issues, including OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS, and other API security configurations.

• Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to integrate Apigee configurations within CI/CD pipelines.

• Implement and maintain Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), enforce API governance, and ensure compliance with security best practices.

• Document API configurations, policies, and operational procedures clearly and accurately.

• Support scalability planning, capacity management, and performance optimization for Apigee environments.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience administering Apigee Edge or Apigee X platforms.

• Strong understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and Identity & Access Management (IAM).

• Proven expertise in managing API lifecycle, including proxy configuration, policy implementation, and deployment automation.

• Solid understanding of API security protocols: OAuth 2.0, JWT, API keys, and mutual TLS (mTLS).

• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.

• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, HTTP protocols, and networking concepts such as TLS, DNS, and load balancing.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Google Cloud Certified - Apigee API Engineer or relevant GCP certification.

• Experience with Google Cloud Operations Suite (Cloud Logging, Monitoring, ing).

• Scripting knowledge in Python, Bash, or Shell for automation and tooling.
