Senior Human Resources Generalist

Position Summary

We are looking for a high-energy, detail-oriented Senior HR Generalist to manage the heartbeat of our medical office. This isn’t just a desk job—we need a problem solver who loves people but lives for organized execution. You will handle everything from the "big picture" of California compliance to the daily details of timecards and benefit enrollments. If you are someone who thrives on "getting things done" while maintaining a warm, professional environment for our clinical team, we want to meet you.

What You’ll Be Doing (The Execution)

  • Daily HR Administration: Be the "go-to" for timecard audits, payroll prep, and maintaining meticulous digital personnel files.
  • Onboarding & Recruitment: Creatively source medical talent (Ma’s, RNs, Front Desk) and lead engaging orientations that make new hires feel at home.
  • Benefits & Leaves: Manage health insurance enrollments and act as the primary guide for employees taking leaves (FMLA/CFRA).
  • Employee Relations: Act as a culture-builder. Mediate small conflicts before they become big problems and coach managers on staff engagement.
  • Compliance Baseline: Ensure our office stays on the right side of California Labor Law and COBRA/HIPAA requirements. (Expert status not required, but you must know where to find the answers).

The "Ideal Person" Qualities

  • The Problem Solver: When a timecard is wrong or a conflict arises, you don’t just report it—you fix it.
  • The People Person: You can deliver a firm "no" with a smile and handle sensitive medical staff issues with empathy.
  • High Execution: You find satisfaction in a "zero-inbox" day and a perfectly organized filing system.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of HR experience; experience in a medical/dental/clinical setting is a massive plus.
  • Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of California Employment Law (enough to spot risks).
  • Skills: Microsoft Office (strong Excel skills for data tracking) and experience with HRIS/Payroll systems.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, but years of "street-smart" HR experience in CA is what we value most.

Benefits:

  • 401(k)
  • Dental insurance
  • Employee assistance program
  • Health insurance
  • Health savings account
  • Life insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Vision insurance

Education:
Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience: Human resources: 5 years (Preferred)

License/Certification: SHRM Certified Professional (Preferred)

Shift availability: Day Shift (Required)

Willingness to travel: 25% (Preferred)

Work Location: In person
