Summary:
This position will provide elevated support for Infrastructure Design Engineers and platform engineers in the design and implementation of infrastructure and security services in company’s next generation data centers. Additionally, this position will also help support ongoing architecture team services such as software technical evaluations of commercial and open-source software and perform a risk analysis for new network connectivity requests.
Responsibilities:
- Support projects that include a new data center implementation, new services, and changes to existing infrastructure and applications. Tasks will include performing technical design reviews, reviews of network security change requests including firewall access and micro-segmentation policy updates, and performing technical evaluations of software.
- The role supports internal customers in Infrastructure Design and Engineering, application developers and production support teams, platform engineering teams, and other internal lines of business.
- High degree of collaboration is required to evaluate requirements, perform a security analysis, and provide recommendations.
- A key contributor to advance company’s objective of modernizing our networks; gain in-depth exposure to new technologies and software; gain hands-on experience with micro-segmentation.
- Company is at the forefront of the payments industry. The technologies utilized in this industry are continually evolving with the advancement of AI and the use of public and private cloud infrastructure.
- Work with a team focused on automation and intelligent decisioning while also providing security consultation for our internal customers.
- Gain experience with micro-segmentation, technical evaluations of commercial and open-source software, assessment of controls, and performing technical architecture design reviews.
Requirements:
- Network and security engineering - 3 years
- Security assessment - 2 years
- Ability to effectively identify security risks associated with technology designs and implementation
- Contributions to improving security guidelines and procedures
- Meet defined SLA requirements for reviewing connectivity requests
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment

- Networking (ports and protocols that operate at layer 3 and 4) - Strong
- Network security controls (network firewall, web application firewalls, host-based firewalls) - Strong
- Information security risk analysis - Moderate
