Senior Interior Designer

EGEC Qatar is seeking a highly skilled and design-oriented Senior Interior Designer to join its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) division. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing all interior design activities across major projects, ensuring the delivery of innovative, functional, aesthetically refined, and sustainable interior solutions aligned with project objectives, international standards, and client expectations.

The role demands extensive experience in interior design management, multidisciplinary coordination, material selection, and project execution from concept development through construction and final handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of interior design strategies, concept studies, space planning, and detailed interior design packages across all project phases.
• Manage and review consultant and contractor deliverables, including drawings, RFIs, technical submissions, shop drawings, material submittals, mock-ups, and payment applications.
• Ensure seamless coordination and integration of interior design works with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
• Monitor the performance of interior design consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with approved designs, project schedules, quality standards, budgets, and contractual obligations.
• Provide technical expertise and recommendations regarding finishes, FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment), materials, lighting concepts, and value engineering initiatives.
• Participate in design reviews, coordination workshops, site inspections, and project progress meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Oversee implementation activities to ensure execution is aligned with approved specifications, design intent, and project quality requirements.
• Review and endorse completion documentation, as-built drawings, snagging reports, and handover certificates related to interior works.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in interior design management and PMC/construction projects.
• Proven experience delivering high-end hospitality, commercial, mixed-use, residential, or public sector developments.
• Strong knowledge of interior detailing, material specifications, FF&E coordination, international design standards, and construction methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary coordination and consultant/contractor performance.
• Excellent presentation, communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in industry-standard design and visualization software.

Preferred Qualifications

• GCC experience within major PMC or multidisciplinary consultancy environments is highly preferred.
• Experience working with international consultants, operators, developers, and contractors.
• Professional certifications and memberships are considered an advantage.
