Roles & Responsibilities

The Architectural Inspector will be responsible for inspecting and monitoring the quality of the architectural work on-site, ensuring that the construction is in full compliance with approved drawings, method statements, design specifications, building codes, quality standards and local authority regulations. You will, work closely with the resident engineer, architects, and contractors to ensure the project progresses smoothly and that any architectural issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner.

  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor the quality of the architectural work and ensure it is being executed according to the approved drawings, method statements design documents, specifications, applicable building codes, and local authority regulations.
  • Track and report on the progress of architectural works, ensuring that tasks are completed according to schedule and in compliance with project timelines.
  • Identify any discrepancies or issues during construction, whether related to design, quality, or materials, and report any deviations, defects, or non-conformities with the approved construction methodologies. Provide detailed documentation on issues and follow up to ensure resolutions are implemented.
  • Review and ensure that construction documents, including shop drawings, materials, and product submittals, are in compliance with the approved design documents. Maintain thorough records of site inspections, reports, and actions taken.
  • Work closely with the project manager, architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to coordinate and ensure that architectural requirements are met and properly integrated with other project disciplines.
  • Assist in addressing any client queries regarding the architectural aspects of the construction process. Provide feedback on architectural issues and progress to the client as needed.
  • Ensure that all architectural work complies with local regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental guidelines. Monitor and report on safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all site personnel.
  • Witness mock-up installations, sample approvals, and material testing.
  • Inspect architectural materials and finishes delivered to the site to ensure they conform to project specifications and quality standards. Verify that materials and products are being used correctly during construction.
  • Track and report on any architectural deficiencies, recommending corrective actions. Ensure that all issues are resolved before final inspections and project handover.
  • Provide regular reports on site progress, architectural inspections, and quality control issues. Ensure clear communication between the site team, contractors, and consultants.
  • Assist in the preparation of snagging and de-snagging reports and monitor the close-out of punch list items.
  • Assist in preparing for final inspections and handover, ensuring that all architectural elements meet the design specifications and client requirements before project completion.

Experience & Qualifications

The minimum qualifications for this role are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture

  • At least 8 years of experience in architectural inspection, site supervision, or construction management, with at least 5 years of experience working on-site in the UAE or GCC region.

  • Experience working on a wide range of project typologies, including hospitality, luxury residential, mixed-use developments, commercial, or institutional projects.

  • In-depth knowledge of UAE or GCC construction regulations, building codes, and architectural practices.

  • Strong experience in architectural site supervision and inspections, with a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of construction methods and materials.

  • Familiarity with architectural software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools is desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation is essential.

  • Ability to closely inspect and identify issues related to design, quality, materials, and workmanship, and communicate these effectively.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, consultants, contractors, and the project team.

  • Ability to identify problems on-site and recommend effective, timely solutions to keep the project moving forward.

  • Solid understanding of site safety protocols and regulations. Ability to identify safety hazards and report them effectively.
