Senior Interior Designer

THE STUDIO

Nina Magon Studio is an internationally recognised interior design practice working at the intersection of ultra-luxury residential and hospitality. Founded by Nina Magon and headquartered in Houston, Texas, the studio has built a reputation for environments of quiet intensity; spaces that are simultaneously precise and deeply felt.

Our design philosophy is rooted in the belief that true luxury is not a matter of accumulation but of discernment. We work with the finest materials, the most considered artisans, and clients who understand the difference. Every decision, from the structural to the minutely decorative, is made with the same deliberateness. The result is interiors that are warm without being soft, elevated without being cold, and always unmistakably singular.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a Senior Interior Designer of genuine calibre, someone for whom the practice of interior design is not simply a profession but a considered way of seeing the world. You will lead projects of the highest order from concept through to installation, working closely with studio leadership and a talented multidisciplinary team on commissions that demand full creative ownership and unwavering attention to quality.

This is a role for a designer who is ready to be trusted with the work entirely, and whose judgement is reliable enough to merit that trust.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the full design process across luxury residential and hospitality projects, from initial concept development through construction administration and final installation
  • Develop and present compelling design concepts, material narratives, and spatial studies that honour the studio’s philosophy and the individual nature of each commission
  • Specify and source furniture, finishes, lighting, and bespoke elements with a deep understanding of craft, provenance, and quality
  • Produce and oversee architectural documentation including floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and millwork packages
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, specialist fabricators, and consultants to protect design intent through every stage of execution
  • Manage project budgets and schedules with rigour, addressing challenges proactively and without compromising the integrity of the work
  • Mentor junior members of the design team, contributing to the standards and creative culture of the studio
  • Maintain and expand a network of suppliers, artisans, galleries, and makers in service of the studio’s sourcing standards

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A minimum of eight years of experience in luxury residential and/or hospitality interior design, with a portfolio that demonstrates both technical rigour and aesthetic conviction
  • A developed sensibility for proportion, material, and space; you understand what makes a room work not simply in plan but in experience
  • Technical fluency across AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp
  • Deep knowledge of luxury materials, furniture, finishes, and the specialist suppliers and artisan makers who produce them
  • Proven experience in construction administration, including shop drawing review, RFI management, and site coordination
  • A composed and considered presence with clients, and the ability to articulate design decisions with clarity and confidence
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for site visits and client meetings
  • Spanish language proficiency is an advantage
