Senior Legal Advisor

The Senior Legal Advisor predominately specializes in in-house legal work that is inclusive of legal services processes, contracts, corporate matters, liaising with external counsels, and so forth.

He/she is responsible for providing legal advice regarding various kinds of legal matters and ensuring the compliance of the company’s operations with applicable laws and regulations in different jurisdictions. In addition, he/she is responsible for drafting contracts, corporate, and legal documents.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Drafting and reviewing contracts and legal documents
• Conducting legal research and providing legal opinions in respect of various aspects of the relevant laws (local and foreign) and providing legal opinions to the concerned departments.
• Providing corporate services to the company and its affiliates (local and foreign) when required including the revision and drafting of various corporate documents such as Board of Directors Meetings and Ordinary and Extra-ordinary General Assemblies
• Representing the company before governmental and non-governmental entities including GAFI and FRA
• Conduct legal research on intellectual property laws and related issues
• Ensuring compliance with the applicable laws and regulations including privacy laws and monitoring changes to laws and regulations that have an impact on the company’s business.
• Liaising with the company’s outside legal counsel.
• Preparing and reviewing the translation of contracts and legal documents from Arabic to English and vice versa.

Experience:

o A minimum of 5 years of experience in the general legal field, preferably as an in-house legal consultant within a corporate setting

o Good knowledge and practice in the general legal field.

o Experience in working in a legal corporate capacity providing legal advice on a vast set of general corporate matters

Skills:

o Efficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents (Arabic/English)

o Strong research and analytical skills

o Very good interpersonal and Communication skills

o Ability to work within a team

o Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines

o Very good command of English and Arabic, written and spoken
