Senior Linux System Administrator

Overview

They are looking for a Senior Linux System Administrator to join their team. The primary focus of this role will be on server maintenance and automation scripting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux systems administration and be comfortable working with a wide range of technologies.

Role and Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Linux servers in both virtualized and physical environments, ensuring high availability and performance
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for server provisioning, deployment, and configuration management
• Troubleshoot server and network issues, and perform root cause analysis
• Implement security measures and ensure compliance with security policies and regulations
• Collaborate with development and other teams to ensure smooth deployment of applications
• Participate in on call rotations and respond to incidents as needed

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Computer Science or related field
• 8+ years' experience as a Linux System Administrator
• Strong proficiency in shell scripting and Python programming
• Expertise in Linux system administration, including package management, kernel tuning, and network configuration
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware and experience managing virtual machines
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform
• Understanding of microservices architecture and containerization using Docker
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab
• Knowledge of network design and QoS guarantees
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to work well in a team oriented, collaborative environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
