Leadership
- Lead and direct the Aerodrome team to achieve their individual objectives and personal growth objectives in a cohesive manner.
- Assist the Director in implementing the change management programs to drive continuous improvement of functional systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’.
- Lead and manage the team members of the business units by instilling the values of the “Corporate Path” which is including setting individual objectives, selecting qualified staff, monitoring performance, provision feedback, in order to maximize subordinate and performance
Certification/Approval, Audit and Continued Oversight
- Issue relevant certificate/approvals and/or recommend for certification/approval, as per the Technical Authority Manual, dependent on the assessment of individuals and/or products and/or client’s structure, manuals, personnel and training programmes, to maintain safety standards.
- Develop the annual oversight (surveillance) program to ensure compliance with standards and regulations and deficiencies identified in the audit reports or during regular oversight are acted upon.
- Manage the tasks assigned to Inspectors for the certification/approvals, audits are in compliance with standards.
- Ensure that Q-Pulse (auditing system) is maintained in an up to date and accurate manner for executing the surveillance program efficiently and in a timely manner:
- Manage Aviation Safety-related investigations, coordinating where operational issues are relevant in order to determine the cause of accidents and prevent future incidents.
Surveillance Program & External Audits
- Ensure the implementation of any corrective action raised against the Department during internal surveillance program to ascertain alignment of Safety Affairs standards in line with international standards and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate and administer all auditing activities by external entities of Safety Affairs including ICAO, and IMS to ensure smooth and productive audit.
Document Management
- Manage the maintenance of a comprehensive record of relevant certification, reports, recommendations and general documents to ensure an accurate record and evidence base.
Safety Policy / Safety Promotion and Culture
- Provide input into the identification of Acceptable Levels of Safety Performance (ALOSP) to ensure appropriate and achievable targets are set.
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety promotion activities to disseminate and nurture a safety awareness culture in the UAE civil aviation industry and to keep industry players abreast of changes to relevant rules, regulations and other aviation safety developments.
- Provide advice and guidance to the Sector, sharing best practice, trends and the findings of reviews, studies and investigations to prevent future occurrences/incidents/accidents.
Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures
- Assist the management in maintaining on-going liaison with foreign and international aviation regulatory bodies on new requirements and changes to existing safety regulations to foster the safe and orderly growth of UAE civil aviation.
- Develop, improve and implement Safety Affairs policies, systems, processes, and procedures so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering high quality safety services to the UAE civil aviation industry in accordance with customer service standards.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
University degree in aviation-related field or an equivalent technical qualification with 7 years’ experience working in aviation in a safety role.
