SENIOR MANAGER - CARGO SERVICES


JOB PURPOSE & SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES


  • The Senior Cargo Manager reports to the Assistant Vice President – Cargo Operations.


  • Provides good customer service to airlines and other clients by ensuring that their requirements, enquiries and complaints are attended to and resolved expeditiously.


  • Provide prompt services to queries on export and import cargo irregularities from clients and their overseas stations.


  • Conduct regular weekly/monthly meetings with airline clients to review and resolve operations issue.


  • Plan and introduce work improvement methods by conducting work studies on work processes with emphasis on staff deployment.


  • Analyze the data collected and propose ways to improve the work processes and improve staff and resource utilization.


  • Expenditure and exercise tight controls to prevent excessive expenditure.


  • Monitor the results of relevant projects and submit post implementation reports.


  • Ensure that all performance data are properly maintained.


  • Ensure that quality control checks/ measures are in place for all functions in cargo operations


  • Responsible for quarterly review of quality control and self – assessment for cargo division.


  • Ensure the compliance of assigned airlines Service Level Agreement (SLA) and achievement of a score of “good” in the monthly and bi-annual surveys.


  • Liaise with relevant section or department involved whenever there are new procedure/handling/audit requirement introduced by the airline.


  • Attends to the airline auditor who audits station’s operation in particular with regards to safety, procedures and dangerous goods handling.


  • Explore, identify enhancements to IT systems to improve work methods and staff productivity to provide a high standard of service.


  • Planning, implementation, evaluation and guidance of all cargo operational and administrative functions


  • Ensure timely replacement of old equipment and plan for budgetary allocation for capitalization of assets used at the airport for operational functions


  • To ensure strict compliance to their department/section operational safety and security functions, and also ensuring operations are provided with necessary resources.


  • Evolve and monitor implementation of cargo handling procedures


  • Attend customer complaints and resolve them in a timely manner


  • Ensure rectification of discrepancies


  • Ensure processing of cargo claims with shortest time possible


  • Develop system for regular monitoring of field operation


  • Coordinate with station/terminals for improvement of service facilities


  • To prepare and update Cargo Handling Manual/circulars and other reference material


  • Update station about IATA regulations & procedures of cargo handling


  • Negotiate and update cargo handling agreements relating to cargo services


  • Implementation of SMS in Cargo


  • Effectively manage cargo handling facilities


  • Make cargo handling procedures more efficient and conversant to industry requirements


  • Management and optimum utilization of Cargo Terminal facilities


  • Optimum utilization of available manpower and motivating manpower for training/rewards.


  • Responsible and accountable for overall quality, safety and security of operations.


  • You will be responsible and accountable to make necessary operational decisions related to safety and security matters at all times whilst on duty.



EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor’s Degree / diploma (or) equivalent from a reputed university


  • Post Graduate degree preferred



RELEVANT EXPERIENCE


  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience of airline experience


  • Must have lead an area of operations successfully


  • Good oral and written communication skills


  • Must possess exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills


  • Marketing experience will be considered an advantage


  • Experience in risk analysis procedures, airline quality management systems and familiarity with ISO 9001/2000 procedures


  • Eligible in Dangerous Goods Acceptance and Live Animals Regulations


  • Effective people management and planning/organizing skills, customer focused and analytical with good judgment


  • Must have lead an area of operations successfully


  • Excellent knowledge of the layout of the Noida Air Freight Terminal


  • Thorough Airline Industry knowledge


  • Should be able to handle matter relating to compliance/discrepancies & claims related to cargo


  • Should be computer literate
