Senior Manager Legislation (National Talent)

The Senior Manager Legislation is responsible for leading the development, review, and coordination of legislative proposals related to the economic and tourism sectors, including commercial legislation governing business, investment, and market activities. The role ensures legislative alignment with local and federal strategies, best practices, and DET's strategic goals.


  • Lead the drafting, development, and amendment of legislation, regulations, and executive decisions related to economic, commercial, and tourism activities.
  • Manage the monitoring and ongoing assessment of DET and its corporations' compliance with regulatory frameworks and legislative requirements, making necessary adjustments to ensure adherence.
  • Manage the drafting of proposals pertaining to the issuance of new legislation and policies related to the economy and tourism sectors and its activities (including commercial legislation regulating business and investment activities); ensure alignment with ongoing local and federal developments.
  • Manage the review and study of legislation proposed by the governmental entities (i.e., local and the General Secretariat of the Supreme Legislation Committee) as well as other proposals and provide a commentary based on global trends; oversee liaison with other relevant stakeholders as needed, e.g., TEC, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Economy.
  • Provide expert legal and policy advice on legislative implications, risks, and opportunities, informed by global economic and regulatory trends.
  • Manage coordination with other government departments to obtain legislative approvals and to facilitate other legislative matters.
