Senior Mechanical Engineer MEP

1. Design & Technical Oversight

• Review and approve mechanical design drawings, calculations, and material submittals.
• Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, IPC, and UAE authority requirements (Dubai Municipality, DEWA, SEWA, Civil Defense).
• Coordinate with consultants to resolve design discrepancies.
• Prepare technical reports, method statements, and shop drawings.

2. Project Execution & Site Supervision

• Lead and supervise site installation of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire‑fighting systems.
• Monitor progress, quality, and safety of mechanical works.
• Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning (T&C).
• Ensure proper installation of equipment such as chillers, FAHUs, pumps, ducting, piping, valves, and fire systems.

3. Coordination & Management

• Coordinate with electrical, civil, and architectural teams to avoid clashes.
• Attend weekly progress and technical meetings with contractors, consultants, and clients.
• Manage subcontractors and ensure adherence to project schedules.
• Resolve site issues and provide engineering solutions.

4. Procurement & Documentation

• Review BOQs, specifications, and tender documents.
• Evaluate vendor proposals and select mechanical equipment.
• Track material delivery schedules and ensure timely procurement.
• Maintain project documentation, logs, and reports.

5. Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all mechanical works follow QA/QC procedures.
• Conduct site audits and ensure compliance with HSE standards.
• Prepare snag lists and ensure closure before handover.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire‑fighting systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), HAP, DuctSizer, PipeSizer.
• Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple contractors and fast‑track projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 8–15+ years of experience in MEP construction (UAE/GCC experience preferred).
• Knowledge of local authority approvals (DM, DCD, SEWA, FEWA, etc.).
• Professional certifications (LEED, PMP, CEng) are an advantage.
• Driving License with car
