Job Summary:
The Senior MEP Design Manager is responsible for leading and managing all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) design activities for projects, ensuring that designs are compliant with client requirements, industry standards, and contract specifications. This role oversees the entire MEP design process from conceptual design through detailed engineering and coordination to support seamless project execution while optimizing cost, quality, and schedule.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the MEP design team, managing the development and delivery of high-quality mechanical, electrical, and plumbing designs for projects.

Ensure all MEP designs comply with relevant codes, standards, client requirements, and contractual obligations.

Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary teams including architecture, structural, civil, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions.

Review and approve design documents, drawings, calculations, and technical specifications.

Manage design schedules to ensure timely delivery aligned with overall project timelines.

Oversee value engineering initiatives to optimize design efficiency and reduce project costs without compromising quality or performance.

Conduct design reviews and resolve design-related issues proactively.

Mentor and develop junior design engineers and support their professional growth.

Collaborate with procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure design intent is achieved throughout project lifecycle.

Ensure effective communication and coordination with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Stay updated with the latest technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes related to MEP design.
Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.

Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in MEP design, with at least 3-5 years in a senior managerial role.

Proven experience in managing large-scale commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.

Strong knowledge of international MEP codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC).

Proficiency in MEP design software such as AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP, and other relevant tools.

Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Strong project management and organizational abilities.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across teams and stakeholders.

Experience working in GCC or Middle East projects is preferred.
