Senior MEP Engineer

Job Type: Full-time, on-site role for a Senior MEP Engineer

Location: Abu Dhabi.

Role:

The role involves planning, designing, and overseeing the installation of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing systems in building projects. The Senior MEP Engineer will be responsible for coordinating MEP services, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, managing project timelines and collaborating with various professionals, including architects and contractors, to deliver high-quality solutions. The role further entails troubleshooting and resolving technical issues on-site while maintaining project documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Support and lead day-to-day MEP site execution covering HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Firefighting, and ELV systems in line with approved drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate MEP works with project schedules, civil/architectural teams, and other trades to ensure smooth progress and avoid clashes.
• Review and manage shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical submissions.
• Ensure compliance with project requirements, local authority approvals, and international standards including DEWA, Dubai Civil Defense, ASHRAE, NFPA and IEC.
• Supervise MEP subcontractors and site engineers; monitor productivity and workmanship quality.
• Conduct routine site inspections, ensure implementation of ITPs, and coordinate with QA/QC teams for approvals.
• Identify technical issues and propose practical engineering solutions in coordination with consultants and senior management.
• Monitor material procurement and deliveries to ensure availability as per construction program.
• Assist in planning, testing, commissioning, and system handover, ensuring compliance with design intent and operational requirements.
• Maintain accurate site records, progress reports and as-built documentation.
• Enforce HSE policies, participate in toolbox talks and promote safe working practices on site.
• Act as a point of contact between site teams and MEP Manager/Project Manager, supporting decision-making and reporting.
