The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the agency's network infrastructure. This role involves overseeing the deployment, configuration, and support of Cisco network devices, Palo Alto Firewall devices, Cloud networks while ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field.
  • A Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification or a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a relevant IT area, to include LAN, WAN, wireless, VoIP, data center and software-defined networking (SDN) administration, engineering, and architecture.
  • Experience with CISCO ACI preferred

The senior network administrator shall be responsible for, but is not limited to, performing the following:

  • Leading the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Cisco network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Monitoring and optimize the performance of the network, ensuring efficient resource allocation and minimal downtime.
  • Diagnosing and resolving complex network issues, including connectivity, performance, and security problems.
  • Ensuring the security of the network by applying patches, updates, and security configurations of all network devices.
  • Maintaining comprehensive documentation of network configurations, procedures, and policies.
  • Working closely with other IT teams to support network needs and integrate network solutions with other systems.
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to junior network administrators and other IT staff.
  • Providing architect network infrastructure services to include establishing secure baseline network configurations, developing network implementation plans, and service deployments.
  • Leading complex troubleshooting layer 2, layer 3, wireless network, VoIP, data center and SDN technologies.
  • Researching and report on new technologies and how they provide value to the organization.
  • Performing hardware installations and supporting the configuration of IT network systems in NCUA on-prem environments.
